The Review of ClickBank University

ClickBank University 2.0 Summary Review
  • Overall
3.9

Affiliate Marketing is a great way to make steady income online while working from the comfort of your home. Of course, it takes a great deal of LUCK to be successful. Now I am not talking about LUCK in the traditional definition of the word, but I am referring to Labor Under Correct Knowledge (LUCK). Affiliate Marketing is great if you know what you are doing. The question is how you go from Not knowing to Correctly knowing. This is where online affiliate training courses come into play. On this website, I have already reviewed some great online affiliate marketing courses that can set you on the path to making money online: Wealthy Affiliate and Super Affiliate System. In this post, I am going to discuss Click Bank University and give you some information to help you decide if it is the right choice for you if you are embarking on an affiliate marketing business to produce income. Much has been written about ClickBank University through online reviews, but in this review, I am going to share with you everything you need to know.

(***Affiliate links populate this page which means if you click through and make a purchase, I will earn a small commission – at no cost to you- which is used to pay for this web page. Thank you. ***)

What is ClickBank University?

ClickBank is a large affiliate marketplace where people can sell and promote a variety of digital products. Click Bank University is a training platform where you can learn to sell and promote those digital products.

ClickBank University is online training designed to help people have success with ClickBank both as a vendor and an affiliate marketer. It focuses on creating a product or service and selling it on ClickBank. Additionally, it focuses on affiliate marketers who want to assist sellers using websites, blogs, and social media. The training consists of techniques that could be employed to generate web traffic to a website or blog as well.

ClickBank University has some pretty good training especially if you are new to e-commerce and affiliate marketing. The community is active and helpful. If you are interested in only affiliate marketing, then I would recommend another online training platform. Click here for my number one recommendation. However, if you are interested in selling your own digital product then Click bank University is a good place to start.

ClickBank University was created by Justin Atlan, Adam Horwitz, and Matt Hulett.

How much does ClickBank University cost? Currently, you can get ClickBank University for $47 per month but to enjoy the full benefits of the program you will need to spend money on up sells that can be several hundreds of dollars (usually around $600 to be more exact and an additional $100 for some advanced training that isn’t offered under the $47 original price). The up sells are a downside for the program.

Currently, the training is called ClickBank University 2.0. So, what does ClickBank University have to offer? Is ClickBank University a scam? What is the truth about ClickBank training videos? In short, is ClickBank university worth it?

ClickBank University 2.0

ClickBank University 2.0 is basically 3 training programs:

1. Making money as a vendor

2. Making money as an affiliate marketer by promoting the digital products of other people.

3. Generating web traffic to your website or blog to generate sales as either a vendor, affiliate marketer, or both.

The course has a:

1. Program for vendors is for those individuals that are creating a digital product or service of their own and then use ClickBank to market the digital product. If you have a digital product that is truly unique and in demand, this is a great way to begin marketing it. You would want to attract some good affiliates that are associated with your niche to help get the word out on your product. ClickBank University gives you the training you need to attract the type of affiliates you want in order to achieve the success you are looking for

2. Program for affiliates is for those individuals who want to be affiliates and promote the digital products created by other people. Most people that are building an online business are going this route. It is a legitimate way to make money and there are many ways to approach it. I do believe ClickBank University has some good training on this option but as I stated above, I believe there are some better options such as Wealthy Affiliate. The biggest downside to this part is the up sell of Builder 2.0 which is about $600. There are better and more affordable options that can do the same thing. The other downside is that you are required to be hosted by ClickBank and there are limitations to that as well.

3. Program for increasing web traffic to your website or blog. This section is where the founders explore successful methods for producing web traffic. They admit that they don’t share All the traffic methods they are aware of because they don’t want to overwhelm newbies but this justification seems to be a weak one especially when generating web traffic is the most difficult thing to do if you are building an online business.

ClickBank University 2.0 Vendors Program

The vendors program is for those that will be creating and selling their own digital products. In my opinion, this is the best program that ClickBank University has to offer and may be a reason that it is a good investment. However, unless you have a good ideal for a digital product, if you are not familiar with affiliate marketing this may not be the best place to start. The training is led by founder Justin Atlan.

This program teaches you how to create a digital product such as an e book on how to do something. It should be something that you are passionate about and have specialized knowledge on the subject. Once you have created the digital product, you will utilize affiliate marketing to sell it to the online masses. This can be very profitable especially if you have digital product that will be in high demand and if you utilize affiliate marketing properly.

This is a 12-week program.

Justin gives you the information you need to create affiliate tools that can be used on ClickBank Builder to make it easy for affiliates to sell your product. He discusses the importance of why and how to get into the “circle”. The “circle” is a group of affiliates that know each other and usually work together to promote a variety of products. • The Testing Blueprint
  • How to Test Using Tools
  • The ClickBank University Case Study

Week 12 Scale Your Success

This week will be about scaling your business for success. One way to do this is to expand the web traffic which is cover in depth in the Web Traffic Generation program. He talks about funneling and email marketing to get sales from repeat customers. He discusses creating additional product lines to generate additional income. Justin concludes this program discussing how to utilize webinars to promote high ticket items. This week videos include:

  • Funnel Creation
  • Creating a Product Line
  • Coaching, Consulting, and Speaking

Bonus Section

This will complete all the formal training of this program. In the bonus section, you will be given some additional information on how to create webinars and sell to a live audience. It is a very popular way to make some good money. You will get some additional information on sales funnels as well.

If you are interested in creating and selling your own product, this is some very good training and will be worth your time and investment. This information is primarily geared towards ClickBank but there is information here to help you sell your products on other platforms as well. Now, let’s take a closer look at the affiliate marketers’ program.

ClickBank University 2.0 Affiliate Marketers Program

This training is led by Adam Horwitz and it is an 8-week program. If you want the full 8 weeks of training upfront, you will have to enter your name and email otherwise you will have to wait for each week to pass to have the modules unlocked ( I didn’t really like this, I paid for the training just let me have what I paid for).

Here is an overview of the training

So let’s take a closer look at each week…

Week 1 Affiliate Marketing on ClickBank

This is just an introduction to affiliate marketing. This week is for newbies to affiliate marketing. The videos include:

  • Affiliate Profit Plan
  • Setting Yourself Up for Success
  • Setting Goals

Week 2 Understanding Affiliate Marketing

This week is for newbies to affiliate marketing as well. This is affiliate marketing basics and it is very generic so if already are very familiar with affiliate marketing there is NOT much benefit in this module. This week videos include:

  • Affiliate Basics
  • Navigating through the ClickBank(CB) Marketplace
  • Secrets of the Top CB Products

Week 3 Finding Your Passion

This week explains why passion is important to the product you choose to promote. You will learn about to research products and pick something that you can promote. You will look at various niches that you can profit from. The videos include:

  • Discovering Your Passion
  • Researching Products in Your Niche
  • Picking the Perfect Product

Week 4 The Ultimate Affiliate Funnel

This week explains the importance of a landing page where you can get emails and create a customer list that you can market to on a repeat basis. The key is offering something for free in exchange for an email. This week’s videos include:

  • The Truth about Traffic
  • Affiliate Funnel 101
  • Building Squeeze Pages

Week 5 Free, Free, Free – Always Over Deliver

This week is about over delivering for your customers and providing lots of value for free. You will focus on building relationships with your current and potential customers. You will focus on creating continuous content in which to build long-lasting customer relationships. This week’s videos include:

  • Building a Relationship with Your List
  • Different Ways to Deliver Free Content
  • Outsourcing Your Content

Week 6 Writing the Perfect Swipe

This week is about influencing your customers to open and react to your emails via a click. You will consider the right trigger words and subject lines. This week videos include:

  • Getting Them to Open the Email
  • Making Sure They Click
  • Offering Bonuses

Week 7 The Email Blueprint

This week you will look at outsourcing for help with email, CBY suggests AWeber for this but there are alternatives as well. You will look closer at broadcast email and reaching all your subscribers. This training is outdated and there are better methods that achieve better results. This week videos include:

  • Using Broadcasts
  • Automating Your Emails
  • Creating Quality Content

Week 8 Scaling and Expanding

This week focuses on creating and generating traffic however the information is scarce and Adam directs you to Web Traffic Program of CBU. There just isn’t very much information here. This week videos include:

  • Toolkit Traffic Area
  • Opening the Flood Gates
  • Creating a Product

Unlike the Vendors Program, I don’t see much value in this program. This training is lacking and in some cases outdated. The training doesn’t offer much practical advice. The training is divided up over 8 weeks but you can complete all of it in under a few hours. When it comes to Affiliate Marketing training, there are better and less expensive options. Check out my number 1 recommendation for this. Now let’s look at CBUs Web Traffic Generation Program.

Click Bank University 2.0 Web Traffic Generation Program

This section is dedicated to successful traffic methods, however the founders of CBU don’t reveal all the methods because they “don’t want to overwhelm.” Frankly, the excuse is weak but let’s look at what they do reveal.

YouTube Ads

You learn about setting up a YouTube Channel and using paid advertising to get people to view your videos and visit your website.

Facebook Ads

You are given some information on why you should use Facebook but you are not given any information on how to effectively use it.

Setting up Your Facebook Ads

Again, this section doesn’t train you on how to effectively use Facebook Ads instead it focuses on setting up a Facebook advertising account.

Paid Search Ads

This is a training on how to use Google and Bing paid advertising. The problem is that this training is a little outdated to say the least.

Instagram

This training is about using “shout outs” via Instagram to generate web traffic. You are posting “shout outs” to your offer with the use of influencers in your niche. This strategy is about creating a squeeze page to collect emails to build your list and then sell to the list. The “shout outs” cost additional money.

The Web Generation Traffic program touches on some legitimate ways to get customers in front of your offer however some the information is outdated and very lacking. There is no mention of SEO traffic which is still the best way to generate web traffic as of this post. If you want to learn about web traffic, more ways to generate web traffic including SEO, then check out my number one recommendation.

Pros and Cons

There is an additional section called a Toolkit but some things in the toolkit are not tools. They send you to GoDaddy to get a domain name for example. Some tools have better and less expensive alternatives as well. There is a Chat forum and Live Q& A as well. These are some nice resources but you often find these types of resources on most online affiliate marketing training platforms. So let’s take a quick look at the pros and cons of purchasing CBU.

Pros

  • Really good training if you want to sell your own product
  • There is a Chat forum to interact with other members
  • Weekly Q&As to get up-to-date information
  • Exposure to some legitimate web traffic generation methods
  • A money back guarantee

Cons

  • Not very many practical examples of the things you will be learning
  • The training is lack in some areas
  • The training is outdated in some areas
  • There are better alternatives to the affiliate marketing and web generation programs
  • Too many up sells
  • No training on organic web traffic such as SEO

As you can tell from my review, I am neither endorsing nor disapproving of ClickBank University. It really depends on you and what you are trying to do. If you are selling your own product, there is some good training and information here. However, if you are just interested in affiliate marketing there are some better alternatives in my opinion.

Other Possibilities

If you are interested in strictly affiliate marketing, then check out my reviews on Wealthy Affiliate and Super Affiliate System.

As of this post, my number one recommendation is Wealthy Affiliate. It has been a great experience for me and you should check it out.

I remembered the period ClickBank University was launched, I almost joined because they offered a one time payment then but I was unable to afford it. ClickBank is an amazing Affiliate Network with lots of products we can promote so I always felt their University will do justice in teaching what is required to succeed as an affiliate. After reading this review, I must say that I am disappointed in a way. I don’t like the upsells too…

Thank you for sharing this review.

    Regards!

The reputation clickbank has built over time cannot be ignored. They are actually dedicated to helping their advertisers as well as their publishers succeed. Justin does a really good and thorough job with the vendor’s training. I consider it the ideal course for digital products creation and marketing. Adams affiliate training is also good. I also find their traffic strategies somewhat appealing. Clickbank is huge, so it makes sense that the training is standard.

    Great post

Thanks for the great review. This is one of the products I paid for and say thanks to God for them to have a Money Back Guarantee I did use.

The quality of videos and material is good, but not as promised. There are many things missing (not clear actionable) there are too many up-sales and collateral services to hire for a price. They’re not focused on using SEO nor protecting you (You can use an intermediate page to cath data of the people you drive to their solution at your own cost).

Thanks for a great review! Do the alternative “Wealthy Affiliates” has a Money Back Guarantee or a trial period?

I have received Clickbank University email blast a few and always wondered what is it all about, thanks to your review now I know. 🙂 The training is very similar to WA boot camp program. I am glad I did not join them because I already belong with Wealthy Affiliate and pretty they have the same material. Maybe some day I will join them when I have the product of my own to launch with Clickbank. 🙂

    Cheers!

    Hello Lee,

I would like to thank you, first of all for reviewing ClickBank University. Next I would like to thank you for sharing this information.

I am familiar with ClickBank University through Wealthy Affiliate and I receive their E-mails all of the time. From what I have seen so far their program seems to be well put together. I have received training information from ClickBank University in the form of videos, so I know they have training for anyone who wants to sell their own products. I figure, if they are willing to train you to make money, they are willing to make money with you.

Right now I have many other things going on that takes precedence over ClickBank University, but when I get the chance I will see the other advantages they have to offer, however I am currently using them for some of my Affiliate Marketing.

Thank you again for reviewing and sharing this information.

    Blessings To You My Friend,

    Jerry

I have heard about Clickbank University and though I am already doing affiliate marketing I was thinking of learning more and possibly promoting the training and/or some of the Clickbank products. I am happy that I found this review of Clickbank University 2.0 because now I think I will look elsewhere to learn more about affiliate marketing.

You have stated that the Clickbank University training is both lacking and outdated in some areas. This is a big problem for me and so are the upsells and no training about SEO. Then you mention an alternative called Wealthy Affiliate. Do they have any upsells, is their training up to date, and do they teach SEO? Thank you in advance for your answers.

WA has 2 memberships: free and premium. The premium membership has everything you need to learn about affiliate marketing and set up a website to work from. Aside from stepping up to the premium membership, there really isn’t any up sells.

Clickbank University is one of these well known platforms that definitely have some value to them compared to a vast number of scams out there. Although I have never tried it I had heard a lot about it and it can be of value for those looking start on affiliate marketing. Personally I will stay with WA as it offers me everything I need and as they say “If it works it doesn’t need changing!”.

I have looked into Click bank they really offer some great affiliate programs to promote. I was very tempted to join click bank university but did not have the funds to join it. I have found that being part of WA has been a great opportunity and the training has been amazing. I have been looking into other affiliate programs too. Sometimes it can be very overwhelming where to start and where to go next. Thanks for your review.

Well, first thank you fir the review of Clickbank. I have not heard if them before. I have only been with Wealthy Affiliate a short time. In that time I have been very pleased with how easy they make the whole training process. Clickbank seems a bit more difficult for the novice to follow. I think I’ll stay with Wealthy Affiliate but thank you for the knowledge.

I had forgotten all about Click Bank. I once made an account and never used it. I remember I as going to do an online affiliate entrepreneurial job; I think. If it weren’t for this reading, I would of probably never remembered.  This is not only interesting but also exciting because one gets to learn a broader part of the affiliate world.

Thank you for your unbiased review of the Click Bank University. I had undergone the CBU Affiliate training just before I came across Wealthy Affiliate and the difference is clear.

If you ask me, the CBU Affiliate training seemed to be long on theory and short on practicals. Unlike Wealthy Affiliate that starts you off by teaching you how to build your own website with the sole objective of making you a master online marketer equipped with the skill to build and monetize a website in any niche of your choosing, CBU wants you to outsource such practical aspects of Affiliate marketing. So how do you learn to troubleshoot your website if there is a problem?

Heads up for Adam’s Vendor’s class for people who want to create digital products. He is a master inventor himself and pretty spot on, on techniques of creating digital products

Yeah, Clickbank University 2.0 is actually designed more towards product creators rather than affiliate marketers. It is perhaps 80% of the content are focused on the delivery of products.

Clickbank wants more people to sell on their platform, so that is why this education is provided. If you are trying to sell your own digital product, then Clickbank University 2.0 is for you. If you are trying to learn affiliate marketing, then there other products better to choose from.

I have recently paid $47 for Clickbank Pro, as I wanted to source affiliate digital products. However it sounds as though ClickBank is better for Vendors rather than Affiliates. In addition there seems little point in joining Clickbank to learn about affiliate marketing if you are already a member of Wealthy Affiliate. I am also being bombarded with ‘opportunities’ from ClickBank which are unrelated to the University course. As far as I am aware Wealthy Affiliate does not press you into buying other peoples’ products.
