I am a premium member with Wealthy Affiliate, and I am very happy with the Wealthy Affiliate membership. However, I always believe in finding and learning as much as possible. In this Affilorama review, I am going to share my experience.
In addition, to being a Wealthy Affiliate premium member, I have a free membership with Affilorama. In this post, I am going to share with you what I know about Affilorama based on my experience and research into the online training platform.
Affilorama – My Affilorama Review
Price: Varies based on upsells
Owners: Mark Ling
Overall Rank: 78 out of 100 points
What is Affilorama?
Affilorama is an online training platform that teaches people affiliate marketing. It was created by Mark Ling and Simon Slade in 2006 and is based in New Zealand. I
t offers free membership to get started and ideal for beginners or people that are new to affiliate marketing. The training is delivered through articles, videos, and blog posts.
Currently, Affilorama has close to 1 million subscribers worldwide. Affilorama provides it subscribers and members help and support.
Affilorama Free Membership
Affilorama offers free membership for beginners to get started. As a free member, you get access to close to 120 training courses in the form of articles and training videos.
The lessons cover topics such as website design, SEO, social media, email marketing, affiliate marketing, etc… Affilorama provides the free members a virtual lesson book to track the lessons that are completed.
Affilorama provides additional help and support with its very large community forum as well.
The free membership includes:
- Affiliate Marketing Quick Start Guide – Get the basics on affiliate marketing
- Roadmap to Success (virtual lesson book) – to keep things easier and understandable
- 120 Video Lessons – content and information to get your business started
The free membership equates to about 20 hours of training to help you start your online affiliate marketing business. The information is a good foundation, but some information is outdated.
Furthermore, affiliate marketing is focused on Clickbank. The best part of free training is the quick start guide. The free membership includes some online told but with limits.
Here is a picture of some of the free lessons.
Affilorama offers training for advanced affiliate marketers. This training is training that you must pay for. It includes thePath2Passive, AffiloBlueprint, AffiloTools, and AffiloJetpack. All of these upgrades vary in price. Let us take a closer look at each.
This is an eBook that discusses
- Finding a niche
- Finding products within that niche to promote
- Creating content around your niche that will rank and produce traffic
- How to create your target audience to promote products and services to
This is the actual premium membership. You learn 3 basic things. Researching profitable niches, marketing your website, and monetizing your website.
- 90 training videos
- Downloadable lessons
- Lesson notes
- AffiloTheme website builder (used to cost $97 alone)
- Virtual lesson tracker
The Blueprint gives you “homework” after each lesson to give you more of a hand on approach to learning the material. The AffiloBlueprint costs $197 and comes with a 60-day money-back guarantee.
The tools include a back-links analysis tool, rankings checker, social monitoring, and link finder. You can manage and track keywords, SEO rankings, backlinks, website health, traffic monitoring, revenue from some affiliate networks such as Clickbank and a few others, and social media (Facebook and Twitter).
Limited versions of these tools are available for free members.
- The Backlinks Tool – for finding backlinks
- Rankings Checker – for searching website rankings
- Social Monitoring – a tool to help with marketing on Facebook and Twitter
- Link Finder– to assist with building backlinks
These tools are very basic, and you can find better tools for free in other places online. You get the Basic version for free with Affilorama. The premium “Bronze” version is $17 per month (more versatility is available with the “Silver” version at $47 per month and “Gold” version at $97 per month) but it is not much better than the free Basic version. I would not recommend paying for the premium versions on the tools.
According to Affilorama, the Jetpack is a “fail-proof money-making system” and unfortunately it is one area of Affilorama that I find disappointing simply because it comes across as a scam.
I am sure there is some good information but stacked up against the lofty promises, it deserves a pass. Plus, the cost is $997.
The Jetpack includes:
- Email templates– professionally written with a focus on conversions
- Email Opt-ins– to create a high converting email list
- AffiloTheme Website Builder– WordPress website with 12 months of web hosting
- Content Creation Templates ‘cheat sheets’– to create unique articles and blog posts.
- eBook – graphics
As I stated, the Jetpack costs $997 and it comes with a 60-day money-back guarantee. In addition, if you follow “everything” prescribed from the Jetpack and don’t have any success, Affilorama will refund your money plus $100. Again, there is some good information, but it probably does not add up to claims. You must put in the work with any type of affiliate marketing business to make money, even with the Jetpack.
Pros and Cons
- It has a free membership
- The information is immense with either the free or premium memberships
- It is easy to understand information
- You can use the information to start an affiliate marketing business.
- There are help and support
- An active forum
- It has a 60-day money-back guarantee
- Too much-outdated information
- Too many upsell
- Course creators are not actively involved
My Final Word on Affilorama…
As of today, I am a free member and I have found the information that is not out-of-date to be useful in my business. I have not stepped up to the premium memberships.
Many of the features that are available on the premium levels, I already have with the Wealthy Affiliate premium membership. The Wealthy Affiliate premium membership is cheaper overall, and I believe the tools and other features are better.
If I were to pay for upgrades Path2Passive and the Blueprint seem to have a better value for the money. I do not see value in the AffiloTools (there are better alternatives for free). I am skeptical of the value of Jetpack, but I realize that it is my opinion based upon my research and what I have read about it.
I always believe in learning as much as you can, so I recommend looking at the information in the free membership (keep in mind that some information is dated), but be cautious when considering purchasing any of the premium tools.
My verdict- Affilorama is a legit training platform but because of the out-dated material and poor tools there are better options to get started with affiliate marketing.
